The Sacajawea Center is being built to honor one of the most famous women in American History who was born right here in the Lemhi Valley. Sacajawea was kidnapped from her tribe in the upper Lemhi valley when she was just a girl. As a young woman she accompanied the Lewis and Clark Expedition as a guide and led them back into her homeland. |
