Big Eight Mile
back
Go to downtown Leadore, Idaho and make a turn to the south. Follow the road and the signs to Big Eightmile Canyon. Travel south up the canyon and take the first left turn past the Dairy Creek access road. Follow the road to its logical end and you will be at Big 8 Mile campground. A wonderful place to start as you play in the rugged country between the Lemhi Valley and the Pahsimeroi Valley. This is bear country to be prepared.
Image: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 All Finally at the top. The road pretty much disappears here although there is a foot path that continues around the mountain. Here we are looking South. The Pahsimeroi Valley lies on the other side of that far ridge. Elevation here is just under 9000'.
