Withington Fire 2003

The Withington Fire is threatening the Sunset Heights subdivision. Here are some photos taken from a vantage point across the valley and at Sunset Heights. The fire was actually started by lightening in the drainage behind these mountains,in the Pahsimeroi Valley. Increased winds have driven the fire over the mountains and down the other side to the grass lands down around the houses.
Image: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 All I manage to make my way through the road blocks and patrol persons and into the Sunset Heights area. Not a lot of traffic on this road right now. I am required to run with my lights on and also hazard lights flashing. Local residents are being asked to evacuate voluntarily.
