Withington Fire 2003

The Withington Fire is threatening the Sunset Heights subdivision. Here are some photos taken from a vantage point across the valley and at Sunset Heights. The fire was actually started by lightening in the drainage behind these mountains,in the Pahsimeroi Valley. Increased winds have driven the fire over the mountains and down the other side to the grass lands down around the houses.
Image: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 All I am not the only person to take advantage of this vantage point. This usually quiet road that leads to Syringa Lodge Bed and Breakfast, has now become a "view point". Locals and tourists alike are up here well into the evening hours to view the fire.
