back

The Lewis and Clark Expedition came into the Lemhi valley over Lemhi Pass. This is a journey by car over following the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Trail which follows the trail rather closely.

Steep and green. Some of the countryside is almost park like. Doug Fir are the chief tree species. This paricular setting is unusual for most of the country side around the Lewis and Clark Trail. There is usually a good deal more down timber and slash on the ground.
